What is Dye Sublimation?

Dye sublimation is a rather simplistic printing process that utilizes a special type of printer known as a dye-sublimation printer. The method employs heat in order to transfer dye onto a variety of different materials. Those materials include plastic, card, paper, or fabric. The flexibility in mediums allows a much greater diversification in the outcome of the design. When compared with images produced by inkjet printers, the difference becomes clear. By using heat to apply the image, dye-sublimation printers produce a much higher, and less pixelated, resolution.
